Clann Na nGael earned their place in the semi-finals of the Intermediate Championship with this hard earned win over neighbours, Dunderry in Cortown on Friday evening.

The large crowd was treated to a very entertaining game of football. This win was based on hard work and strong determination. There was nothing between the teams in the first half, with Jamie Shaw and Brian Duffy winning a lot of possession in the middle of the field. The Athboy/Rathcairn lads went in at half time leading 0-5 - 0-4.

When Dunderry hit the front with a goal, they went three points ahead, but back came Clann Na nGael with a goal from Darren Kelly. Gary Woods hit the all important winner after a cross field pass from Graham Geraghty. In what was a great team performance, Jamie Shaw, Ciaran Fitzimons and Gavin Browne excelled.
