Dunboyne's Stephen Moran
St. Peters Dunboyne 2-15
Drumree 2-7

St. Peters Dunboyne advanced to the final of the Brendan Davis Cup this evening on a scoreline of 2-15 to 2-7 played in Ratoath. Dunboyne were first off the mark with a smartly taken score from the left from Neil Hackett but it wasn't long before Drumree came into the game and the green flag was soon raised for them when a short range free was converted low to the net.

This seemed to spark St. Peters into life and they were soon back on top after a point from Barry Watters followed by a goal from Gary Watters after he rose to a high ball to just beat the Drumree keeper and tap the ball into the net to put Dunboyne 2 clear at an early stage. Further scores arrived from Stephen Moran & Sean Quigley along with a Neil Hacket free to give Dunboyne a commanding 5 point before Drumree responded with two of their own to reduce the gap to three points. Shortly before half time extended the lead even further when a Stephen Moran shot was saved by the Drumree keeper but still ended up in the net.

The second period was pretty stop/start with both sides cancelling each other out with points but Dunboyne had a commanding lead that Drumree never seemed like eating into until a hopeful crossfield ball into the Dunboyne square was tapped cooly into the net to give Drumree slight hope of a comeback. Towards the end St. Peters tagged on further points from Neil Hackett, John Watters, Ger Murphy & Barry Watters to give them the eight point cushion and a spot in the final against either Boardsmill or Kilmessan

St. Peters Team lined out as follows: 1. Stephen Clince 2. Mark O'Connor 3. Paul Fagan 4. Andy McWeeney 5. Niall Watters 6. Michael Dunne 7. Paul Gannon 8. Barry Watters 9. Ger Murphy 10. John Watters 11. Neil Hackett 12. Sean Quigley 13. Michael O'Grady 14. Gary Watters 15. Stephen Moran
