Wolfe Tones 2-6

The Junior B division 1 footballers finally got off the mark with a deserved draw in round 4 of their league campaign against Wolfe Tones last Monday in Kilberry.

Playing against the wind in the first half Ratoath got off to the worst possible start and were 2 goals(1 a penalty) down after 10 minutes. That said Ratoath hung in there and through stout defending and wastfulness on Wolfe Tones part they only found themselves 2-1 to 0-2 points down at half time.

The second half saw the tables turn and with Daragh O'Brien and Eoin Halpin prominent Ratoath clawed their way back and they particularly finished the stronger side in the last 10 minutes. They were also far more economical and were rewarded for their efforts with the equalizing point in with the last kick of the game with a converted free from Daragh O'Brien after a foul on Adam Griffiths. This was certainly a morale boost for this team as they look ahead to their championship on Saturday week. Others to feature for Ratoath were Brian O'Connor,Michael King,Darren Mulvany and Paddy Quinn
