AFL4: Curraha gain first win
May 20, 2013

Curraha's Sean Prenderville
Curraha 1-13
Moynalty 0-10
Curraha finally got off the mark in the Division 4 A League with a well deserved win against Moynalty played in great conditions in Moynalty.
After three minutes Curraha had raced into a 3 point lead thanks to David Coyle (2) and a Niall Moriarty free. Moynalty then found their feet and notched over some fine points but another Coyle point and Moriarty 45 kept Curraha in touch with the home side leading 06-05 at half time and could have been further only for some solid defending from Curraha.
A Neil Shortall point from the throw in had the teams level but Moynalty responded with two points but Curraha came back again thanks to Coyle and Moriarty and the teams were level at 09-09 half way through the second half. Curraha had the momentum and were winning a lot of dirty ball and were doing the hard work in the middle third which lead to them taking the lead thanks to two quick points from Sean Prendeville and Brian Cosgrave. A Shortall free and a further point from the inform Coyle had Curraha three in front and in injury time Prendeville did a Messi and back heeled the ball to the net after great play from Gavin Coyle, Sean O'Hanrahan and Cosgrave.
Best for Curraha were Robert Reid, Prendeville and Coyle.
