U16: Ratoath good but not good enough!
May 19, 2013
Ratoath 3-5
Dunboyne 4-7
In what gradually became a close fought contest Ratoath started very slowly out of the traps and let Dunboyne score 1-2 to no reply in the first five mins. As Ratoath started to settle Dunboyne continued to apply pressure helped by a very strong midfield but it was only after 20 minutes and the score at 2-4 to 0-0 before tom Fadden got a great ball from Sean Keogh and put it in the net.
The goal seem to lift the lads in blue and yellow and they applied lots of pressure on the Dunboyne backs , a free gave Sean Keogh a well deserved point but after all the hard work the HT score was R 1-1 D 2-6.
In the second half Ratoath started much stronger and a greatball in from Ben Mcgowan was slotted in for a second goal by Tom Fadden. Points from Brian Murphy and Sean helped to bring Ratoath back into contention but Dunboyne replied with an extra 2-1 .
Late on Tom managed to find the net for a third time. Matters weren't helped for Dunboyne with their no9 being sent to the line for a second yellow card but they held on for what was in the end a close fought game.
