St Vincents failed to gain revenge for their recent defeat in the championship. The home team got off to a great start with points from Tommy Field (2), Martin Fox and Robbie Lynch. The latter making his first competitive start for the club. Boardsmill then got on the scoreboard with a point which was quickly followed by a second to leave two points in it. The teams then traded two points each. Paddy Arnold and Robbie Lynch getting the Ardcath men's scores. Boardsmill added another point just before the end of the half to leave the score at half time St Vincent's 0-6 Boardsmill 0-5.
Boardsmill started the second half with three unanswered points to take the lead for the first time.St Vincent's were guilty of a number of misses before they got on the scoreboard again with points from Robbie Lynch and Tommy Field to level up the scores again. The teams then traded points with Robbie Lynch getting his fourth of the game. This left the teams level on nine points each with four minutes to play.
Boardsmill had the final say with to late points to win the game.
