IFC: Third win on the bounce for Na Fianna

Na Fianna recorded their third consecutive victory in the 2012 Meade Potato Co Ltd Intermediate Football Championship against Clan na Gael in Trim on Sunday.

The South Meath lads started the game in whirl wind fashion and had 1-6 on the scoreboard before Clan na Gael got their opening score. Seven different players contributed to the scores with the goal coming from Shane Barrett and points from Brian and Dan Queeney; Seanie Griffin; Dean Henrick; Dalton McDonagh and Conor Downey. Two more Shane Barrett goals and five further Na Fianna points, including one from Jamie McCormack saw them lead 3-11 to 0-3 at half time.

Na Fianna made a number of switches at half time and went on to score a further 11 points with Jamie Queeney; Damien Downey and Dean Barrett adding their names to the scoresheet. On a day when the defense kept their opponents at bay Diarmuid Bailey, Michael Farley and Christy Cosgrove excelled.
Na Fianna now play St Michaels in a head to head for first and second place in the group and a spot in the semi final.
