Longwood moved to the top of Group A in the Meade Potato Co. IFC with this hard fought victory over St Colmcille's at a very well appointed Pairc Na nGael Dunsany.

St Colmcilles held a slight advantage, 0-5 to 0-4 in a very competitive first half. The East Meath club went two up after ten minutes from the boot of Ciaran Kelly. Colmcilles should have been further ahead but were guilty of some very bad wides. Rory Maguire got Longwood on the scoreboard. Carl and Aaron Ennis added further points for "The Wood" before Kelly levelled matters. Sean Sheridan put Longwood ahead but a brace of points in the last five minutes gave Colmcilles the lead at the break.

St Colmcilles dominated the early exchanges in the second half. County star Graham Reilly raced through for his first score and his team were three in front. In the next twenty minutes Longwood showed why they are serious championship contenders, holding their opponents to a single point and adding 1-4 to their tally without reply. Points from county man Mickey Burke, Aaron Ennis, Anthony Healy and Rory Maguire put them 0-8 to 0-7 up and when Ryan Keenan was on hand to get the games only goal the two points were in the bag. Operating from centre back Graham Reilly got the last score of the game for the 'Cilles'

Best for the winners were Enda Dixon, Eoin Lynch, Damien Healy, Rory Maguire and Aaron Ennis.
