Boardsmill 2-7
Inny Gaels 0-6

This Division 6 decider was held in perfect football conditions with a slight breeze favouring the Inny Gael players for the first half, but this wasn't the only advantage the Inny Gaels lads had, as they had previously beaten Boardsmill by nine points in the league stages, and had topped their group with fine displays of football.

This however didn't seem to bother the Boardsmill team, from the start, Boardsmill meant business, with half forward Eric Mckay collecting a ball between the 45 and 21 and slotted over to open the scoring. This was followed by a high ball from Niall Durkan along the wing dropping in the danger zone being fisted to the back of the Inny Gaels net by McKay again. Boardsmill continued dominance of the first quarter, also with mid-fielder James Durkan (Captain) take a fine point, before Inny Gaels got a bit of rhythm into their play and scored four points before the half time whistle. It has to be said that Inny Gaels dominated the second quarter of play, but great defensive work with outstanding performances from Jack and Charlie Bird with the aid of Sean Newman, Peter McGuinness and Odhran Corrigan, saw the Inny Gaels getting very little reward for all their hard work.

The second half started as the first one ended with Inny Gaels dominating play for a period of time and cutting the deficit just to one point. Boardsmill rallied again with points from Niall Durkan, Kyle Dixon and Stevie Gibbons. With ten minutes remaining, this was any ones game with just two points separating the sides. Then Durkan (Niall) slotted over two points, and Dixon ran through to rattle the Inny Gaels Net to seal the victory.
