O'Brien to be reappointed in Meath

Eamonn O'Brien as Meath manager during the 2010 senior football championship
The management committee of the Meath county board have proposed that Eamonn O'Brien be returned as senior football manager for the last year of his three year-term.

O'Brien led the Royals to a first Leinster SFC since 2001 this year, although it was shrouded in controversy because of Joe Sheridan's late goal in the final against Louth when he carried the ball over the line, and in 2009 he brought the team to the last four of the All-Ireland SFC series.

The proposal will be put before a board meeting in Monday week and if given the green light, one of O'Brien's first tasks will be to appoint a new team trainer after Sean Kelly's recent decision to step down from his role.
