Camogie: Boardsmill get past Ratoath
March 08, 2010
Boardsmill 2 - 5
Ratoath 0 - 5
Junior club Boardsmill recorded their 2nd win in the league against a fancied intermediate Ratoath side on Sunday morning at Boardsmill.
Ratoath were first off the mark with a point from play, on the puck out the ball quickly moved back down the pitch where Boardsmill's Shona White took control of it lobbing into Emily Finnegan who finished to the net for a great goal.
At half time Boardsmill were leading by 1-1 to 0-3, and when the 2nd half commenced it was mid fielders Shona White and Suzann Keogh who piled on the pressure feeding the ball to the forward line.
Strong performances from Boardsmill's backline helped to maintain the home lead, allowing Ratoath just 2 points in the second half. Boardsmill fought every inch of the field in the 2nd half with Emily Finnegan in fine form and Karen Mc Carthy covering almost every blade, the home team deservedly emerged winners in this round of the Meath Camogie League.
