Cian O'Brien hit 2-1 as Meath recorded an emphatic 15-point victory over Wicklow to claim their fourth consecutive Leinster VS SFC title last Saturday afternoon at Parnell Park.
A shaky start saw the winners trail by 0-2 to 0-0 after eight minutes, before they settled into the game through points from Danny McGovern and Brian McMahon that had them level on 17 minutes.
Moments later, O'Brien slotted away his first goal to put the Royals in front and further white flags saw the Royals take in a 1-6 to 0-2 lead at the break against Wicklow, who had no response.
The young Garden men, who had county star Leighton Glynn as a part of their management, needed a good start to the second-half but failed to get one and an accurate Bobby O'Brien effort extended Meath's lead to five.
Three minutes later and O'Brien poached his team's second goal after Liam Tolan's effort was well saved but the Wicklow 'keeper couldn't do anything about the rebound, which O'Brien coolly dispatched to the net, and the game was over as a contest.
Meath had more chances to punish, as Wicklow failed to score for a full 34 minutes after their second point, but let their opponents off the hook and ran out comfortable winners to collect the title.
