ST. MICHAELS GFC Sunday Nov. 8th 2009 U-21 C FC St. Michaels 4-22 Cortown  0-3 Played at Carlanstown   Half time St. Michaels  3-14  Cortown  0-1 St Michaels played their first match under their new floodlights in Carlanstown on Sunday evening when they easily overcame Cortown to reach the semi-finals of the competition.                                                                       The game was over as a contest after 20 minutes as the St. Michaels side, who are coached by Tony Kearney led by 3-7 to 0-1 after goals from Gavin Meehan, Ciaran Lynch  ( penalty ) and Kevin Cassidy put them in a commanding lead. The home side led by 3-14 to 0-1 at the interval. Ciaran Lynch netted again after 5 minutes of the second half to put the game beyond doubt as Cortown found it difficult to contain the St. Michaels players who were in control in all sectors of the pitch.
