B League Final (Division 5)Played in Walterstown 8/11/2009Carnaross 2-6St Peters 2-9Carnaross suffered their second B League Final defeat in a row when two goals in the second-half turned the game around. Carnaross had the better of the exchanges in the opening period. Despite Dunboyne opening the scoring, Carnaross responded well with Patrick Smith levelling before Rory OíConnor converted a free. Patrick Smith added another point from play before Dunboyne reduced the lead again. Carnaross finished the half strongly with another point from Thomas Farrelly and when Niall McDonnell scored 1-1 it gave Carnaross a four point advantage at the break, 1-5 to 0-4. It was Dunboyne who started best after half-time scoring the first three points to leave one between the teams. Then came the turning point when Dunboyne scored two goals. Despite this setback Carnaross refused to give up and Rory OíConnor converted a free before he scored a goal to leave only three between the sides. Carnaross spurned two late goal chances when Colin Yore was denied by the keeper and OíConnor seen his fisted effort go the wrong side of the post. Dunboyne managed to hold on until the final whistle despite all the pressure.
