Leinster club JHC: Ratoath qualify for special final

Ratoath (Meath) 1-12 Sarsfields (Kildare) 0-8 A fine first half performance was key to Ratoath seeing off Sarsfields and qualifying for the final of the Leinster junior hurling championship special final. Played in cold conditions in Ratoath this entertaining semi final produced some good periods of hurling. Ratoath were first to score with a point on the run from B Crowley. Sarsfields soon levelled from a '65 , but Ratoath then proceeded to dominate for the next 15 minutes during which E McMahon scored a goal after running in from the left and his shot deceived the goalkeeper in went in over his head as Ratoath led 1-09 to 0-03 at half time. On the resumption Sarsfields began to dominate but Ratoath defence held strong and with some timely blocks by the full back line kept their goal intact to win through to the Leinster final.
