O'Rourke and Giles to manage Meath under 21s

November 25, 2008
Meath legends Colm O'Rourke and Trevor Giles have been appointed joint-managers of the Royal County's under 21 football team. The Skryne club-mates take over from Colm Coyle, who combined the roles of under 21 and senior manager last season. While O'Rourke is no stranger to inter-county management, having coached the Meath minors in the past, Giles is new to the scene. It will be the former Footballer of the Year's first involvement with Meath since he announced his inter-county retirement three years ago. Meanwhile, former Meath hurling manager John Davis could be set for a return to the role after being nominated to succeed John Andrews, who resigned recently. Davis, who also managed his native Westmeath, trained the Meath camogie team this year. Kildalkey's Pat O'Halloran is also in the running. Pat Coyle has been reappointed Meath minor football manager after winning a Leinster title this year, while Kit Henry will continue as junior football manager.
