U13: Carnaross see off Inny Gaels
November 10, 2008
Carnaross won a very close and exciting Division 2C U13 final played against Inny Gaels in Kells last Sunday.
Carnaross 2 - 8
Inny Gaels 2 - 7
Having played into the wind Carnaross did very well to hold off a strong Inny Gaels side who scored 2-5 to Carnaross's 0-2 in the first half, with ace midfielder Colm McDonagh grabbing those two scores.
Carnaross started well in the second half with points from Mark McDermott Liam Ward and McDonagh. Carnaross came more and more into the game and then a great effort from Jack Yore found the Inny Gaels net and a great point from Kevin Ward left the game for a grand stand finish. Two late points from Inny Gaels looked like they had done enough when Jack Yore fisted a long range ball to the net to leave Carnaross in the driving seat and winning by a one point margin.
Great displays from L.Brogan P. Flemming P.Dillon C.Carpenter and goalkeeper C.Gibney led to a memorable victory.
