
Ballivor 3-17 Clonard 1-5
Ballivor took on Clonard in Longwood in Saturday evening in round 2 of the Meath JFC.
Ballivor were quick out of the traps and opened the scoring through a Adam Gannon point in the first minute. Moment later Ballivor stuck for the first goal a quick ball in left Nicky Potterton one on one with his man. Nicky skipped by him before finishing to the net. Further points for David Conneely, Killy Canavan and Paddy Conneely had Ballivor 1-4 to no score ahead.
Ballivor were in control when out of nowhere Clonard got in for a goal. The winners responded with three points through Adam Gannon (2) and Kevin McKeon. On the 22nd minute Clonard registered their first point through a free. Ballivor finished off the scoring in the first half with another Gannon point.
Three minutes into the second half the first point arrived through a Clonard free. But Ballivor responded. A ball played into the corner to Potterton who once again blitzed his man coming in along the end line before crossing for Kevin McKeon to fist to the net. Ballivor added further points through Gannon and Brendan McKeon before Clonard respond with another free.
Further points were added by Chris Dunne, Adam Gannon and Brendan McKeon before Potterton got his second and Ballivor’s third goal of the game. Clonard added two further frees before Ballivor added four more points through Nicky Potterton, Brendan McKeon, Adam Gannon and Podger Geoghegan to leave the full time score Ballivor 3-17 Clonard 1-5.
Ballivor take on unbeaten Carnaross in the final group game.
