MFC Div 3A: Lynch fires Moynalty/Carnaross to hard fought win

August 15, 2019

Moynalty's Kian Lynch

Moynalty/Carnaross 1-24  Longwood/Clonard  3-10

Moynalty/Carnaross opened their Division 3 championship campaign with a hard fought win over Longwood/Clonard.

Moynalty/Carnaross had their shooting boots on and hit an impressive 1 goal and 24 points. 1-16 of that total came from the in-form Kian Lynch who was kicking very accurately off both feet (a new personal best from the Meath u16 Gerry Reilly cup panelist).

These scores wouldn’t have happened without the superb passing and link up play from all Moynalty/Carnaross players across the pitch and in particular Cian McGlynn at midfield. James Lynch, Shane and Conor O Reilly all contributed to the final tally.

Credit to Longwood/Clonard who kept battling for every ball right up until the end.

Attention will now turn to Bective/Dunsany in two weeks time.

Moynalty/Carnaross: Conor O Reilly (1 free), Joey Gilsenan, Matthew Muldoon, James Lynch (0-2), Shane O Reilly (0-4), Paddy Lacey, Brian Carolan, Cian McGlynn (0-1), Aaron Sheehan, Darragh O Reilly, Tommy Brady, John Cahill and Kian Lynch (1-16, 3 frees). Subs: Peter Olwill and Jack McEntee.
