Navan O’Mahony’s 4-8 Kilskyre-Moylagh 0-12
It was all about the conditions yesterday and whoever took advantage of the wind would win out and it was O’Mahony’s who made it happen.
Kilskyre-Moylagh got off to an early two-point lead, with a number of well taken points from Derek Muldoon, however O’Mahonys struck back with an early goal making it 1:00 – 0:02 inside the first 10 mins. Kilskyre-Moylagh kept plugging away, as great defensive team work from Gary Reilly and Jimmy Boyle led to Kilskyre-Moylagh pressing ahead again with good direct ball into the forwards. Kilskyre-Moylagh continued to pressure Navan O’Mahony’s with good breakdown play from Padraig Muldoon and Lorcan Maguire.
In a period of dominance and well converted free’s from the Kilskyre-Moylagh men they stretched their led to 1:03-0:09 at half time.
However, in the second half Navan O’Mahony’s found another gear firing in three goals to put the game out of and Kilskyre-Moylagh’s reach particularly in these conditions.
There were positives to be taken for Kilskyre-Moylagh’ with their opening 40 minutes of play but they will need to find another gear if they are to secure some early league points in what is a strong Division 2.
