Ratoath hurlers dominated this game from start to finish played on a cool dry Saturday afternoon in Sean Eiffe park. 

Aided by a strong breeze Ratoath quickly established control of the game and had registered 1-6 in the opening 12 minutes before Drumree got their opening point in the 12th minute. They continued to have the upper hand right through until half time managing to chalk up 1-11 to Drumree's 3 points at the break.

The second half saw more of the same as despite playing against the breeze they managed to maintain control and with the scoring of 2 further goals mid way through the second half the game as effectively over as contest. Two further goals towards the end put the gloss on an impressive opening round performance by Ratoath's hurlers as they ran out 28 point winners
