St Vincents 1-8 Kilmainhamwood 0-10
Kilmainhamwood travelled to Walterstown on Sunday afternoon hoping to ignite their championship hopes with a win over St. Vincent's.
The game started off with both teams trading early points before Kilmainhamwood opened up a two-point lead going into half time. Some accurate scores form the boots of Stephen Kiernan and David Russell had kept the scoreboard ticking over for the Wood.
The second half started with St Vincent's kicking over two early points and taking the challenge to the Wood. However the Kilmainhamwood responded well with points from Stephen Kiernan, Paul Carolan and Michael Shankey.
The Vincent's got the game back to just one point with ten minutes to go and managed to get a goal which left two points between the teams. The North Meath men had plenty of chances but couldn't convert them into scores and left the field losing by a point.
A great effort by the team but not a great result. Best for the wood we're Andy Farrelly, Gary Yorke and Stephen Kiernan.
