Without a win between them from their opening two games of the JFC Group A it was Clonard who secured their first win of the campaign as they edged out Clann na Gael in Longwood.
The winners were behind at the break 0-4 to 0-5 with scores from Gary Raleigh (0-2), Ryan Raleigh (0-1) and a superb solo effort from Eoghan Connolly (0-1).
A determined Clonard side were pushed all the way with Ryan Raleigh's goal boosting them while Jason Dowdall (0-1), Gary Raleigh (0-3), Ryan Raleigh (0-1) and Ger Foley (0-1) contributed to maintain the lead even though Clann na Gael found the net Clonard held on to seal the win.
