Paidin Boggins St. Ultans

St Ultans 2-13  Bective 0-12

St Ultans finished their League campaign with a victory over table toppers Bective in Sean Newman Park on Monday evening. Bective started brightly and were two points up within two minutes. Paidin Boggins opened the scoring for Ultans from a tight angle before Bective scored again from play. Darren Kavanagh (2) and Cian Rennicks scored to level up the match at four points a piece. The first goal of the game came when Darren Kavanagh found his brother Eoin in space with a long kick pass 35 yards from goal, Eoin ran at goal and finished powerfully to the net. Eoin then added a free to leave Ultans four points up. They failed to build on this and Bective controlled the remaining 10 minutes of the half adding five points to lead by the minimum at the break.

Halftime: St Ultans 1-5 Bective 0-9

A good start to the 2nd half was required by Ultans and they got the best possible start when Darren Kavanagh flicked a Gearoid Rennicks through ball past the Bective 'keeper to the net. He quickly followed up with another point after a good run by wing back Emmett Costello. Bective replied with a point but four in a row from Ultans Cian Rennicks (2), Darren Kavanagh and a free from Eoin Kavanagh left 5 between the sides. The sides exchanged further scores but Ultans defended well to prevent a Bective comeback and the home side ran out victors by seven points.

Fulltime: St Ultans 2-13 Bective 0-12
