B FL Div 2: O'Mahonys maintain winning ways

Navan O'Mahonys posted their fifth win in the B FL Division 2 on Monday night when proving too strong for visitors Na Fianna.

Colm Kane's charges secured their 100% record in the opening half and led by 3-12 to 0-4 at the break. An understrength Na Fianna matched O'Mahonys on the scoresheet thereafter, 0-8 to 2-2.
David Dillon led the way for O'Mahonys with 2-3 in the first 30 minutes. His first goal, five minutes in, finished the move of the match. Experienced defender Ian Matthews got the third goal with Rory Maguire providing the assist.
Na Fianna resumed with four points on the spin from as many different players. Sean Smith's goal put the brakes on that scoring spurt by the visitors.
Damien Downey and Harry Silke registered seven points between them for the Baconstown-Enfield-Rathmolyon outfit who finished with six different scorers.
Ronan Byrne's 53rd minute point completed Na Fianna's tally. Subs Gavin Fox enhanced O'Mahonys' scoreline with a goal and a point in the final minutes.
Na Fianna, who started the night in third place with just one loss from four outings, host Skryne in their next fixture.
Navan O'Mahonys' round six fixture will be at home to Trim.
