Although the hosts were convincing winners the score line doesn't reflect what was a fine performance by Bhulf Tón against very strong opposition in Ashbourne.

Killian O Brien David Coleman Alan Callaghan and Gary McFadden scored points for the Tones in the first half while David Coleman added the goal to leave the half time score Donaghmore Ashbourne 2-9 Bhulf Tón 1-4.

Tones kept in touch for the third quarter aided by a Thomas Blaney goal but Donaghmore Ashbourne aided by the introduction of a  number of substitutes added three goals to run out convincing winners. Tones battled hard until fatigue set in and were well served by Patsy Caffrey, Mark Mc Fadden, Killian O Brien and Aonghus Mc Louhghlin.
