B FL Div 6: Ballivor no match for Vincents

May 15, 2018

Ballivor's Brian Perry

St. Vincents 5-19, Ballivor 0-09

Ballivor travelled to Ardcath on Monday evening looking to pick up where they left off in their last B League game, but were missing too many regulars, and St. Vincents took full advantage.

The tone was set early on with St. Vincents starting very strongly, scoring 6 points without reply in the opening 12 minutes, with Ballivor struggling to match the direct running of the home side. Ballivor's first score came from the boot of Paddy Molloy, who has shown good form since his return to 'big ball' this year.

St. Vincent's attacking was relentless, with Ballivor getting very few opportunities to break out, and giving the ball away too cheaply when those rare opportunities did arise.

As the game wore on and the gap between the teams widened, Ballivor showed some character not to give up as they scored 5 points in the closing 15 minutes, which was their strongest period in the game.

Vincent's were worthy winners on the night, with a very fit and organised B League outfit. Best on a poor evening for Ballivor were Paul Fagan, Brian Perry and Paddy Molloy.

Full Time Score: St. Vincents 5-19, Ballivor 0-09.
