Having lost to Skryne and Donaghmore Ashbourne in their opening rounds Dunboyne got their first win of the All County Football League Division 1 with a six point win over Na Fianna played in cold conditions at Dunganny.

A goal from the penalty spot from county senior Donal Lenin and a fine return of 1-6 from former Robbie McCarthy put St. Peters on the road to victory.

Na Fianna 1-11 St Peter's, Dunboyne 2-14

A youthful Na Fianna suffered a second league loss with a loss to Dunboyne in Dunganny on Friday night.

In a game played in good conditions , both sides played good attacking football but Dunboyne proved too strong throughout in a game which saw Na Fianna veteran Shane Barrett make his first Senior appearance since the 2015 SFC Final.

Trailing by 1-07 to 0-7 at half time, an excellent second half Sean Martin goal gave Na Fianna some hope but they could not find parity.

Na Fianna had good performances from Evan Mullally, Oran Smullen, Anthony Neary, Ethan Devine, Sean Martin, Daniel Queeney and Shane Walsh.
