28 clubs benefit from the Government Sports Capital Grants

28 Meath GAA clubs have benefited from the Government Sports Capital Grants to clubs.

28 Meath GAA clubs have benefited to the tune of €1,474,000 from the Government Sports Capital Grants.

A total of €56m will be distributed to clubs and authorities around the country in the latest round of sports capital grants, it was confirmed this morning. 

The programme is the primary means of providing Government funding for capital projects to sport and community organisations at local, regional and national level.

The 2017 round for applications closed in February with a record number of 2,320 received.

Here is the list of successful Meath GAA club applicants.

Ballivor: Construction of synthetic pitch €88,500

Carnaross: Clubhouse extension and up grade €94,000

Castletown: Security fence and community walkway €18,500

Clonard: All weather pitch and grass playing pitch €85,500

Cortown: Clubhouse refurbishment and ground development €74,000

Curraha: Install new ball stop nets €6,500

Donaghmore Ashbourne: Pitch resurfacing, pitch development, ball wall and wall stopper €33,000

Drumconrath: Multi purpose fitness room, gymnasium €48,500

Dunsany: Pitch upgrade (drainage, fencing, lighting) €67,500

Gaeil Colmcille: 2 changing rooms/showers/toilets/referee changing room €87,000

Kilbride: Astro pitch €45,500

Kildalkey: Hurling wall, artificial playing surface build €65,000

Killyon: Floodlights, light up walk way and hurling wall €31,000

Kilmessan: Development of new pitch and exciting grounds €94,000

Na Fianna: New All Weather pitch €47,500

Nobber: New Dressing rooms Phase 1 €77,500

Oldcastle: Public walkway/running track €57,500

Rathkenny: Facility improvement €47,500

Ratoath: Multi use games area - Astro Pitch and Ball Wall €77,500

Seneschalstown: Floodlighting €43,000

Simonstown: New juvenile pitch and upgrade training pitch €23,000

Skryne: Specialist mower, walking path, drainage works €27,500

St. Colmcilles: Clubhouse redevelopment €83,000

St. Marys: Dressing rooms, shower, toilets install €63,500

St. Michaels: Phase 2 Deerpark Development €2,000

St. Ultans: Development of Sport and Recreation facilities €38,000

St. Vincents: Goalposts and training equipment €1,000

Wolfe Tones: Kilberry pitch development €47,000
