MOYNALTY 3-7 SYDDAN 0-13
AFTER leading by six points at one stage in the opening half Syddan eased up short of the winning post and were overtaken by fast-finishing Moynalty in the B League on Monday evening.
The home side scored the first six points, including a brace from Conor Dillon and Darren Smith, before Cathal Reilly netted for the visitors.
Cathal Dardis took his tally of points to three as Syddan finished the half leading by double scores, 0-10 to 1-2.
Moynalty registered the opening two points of the second half before Conor Dillon added to the Syddan tally on 40 minutes.
There was still five points separating the teams entering the final quarter, 0-12 to 1-4. Cathal Reilly then struck for his second goal on 48 minutes before Ronan Lynch reduced the deficit to the minimum.
A Dillon pointed free proved to be Syddan's final score and Moynalty went in front for the first time after Jamie Maloney finished to the net on 57 minutes.
Dudley Farrell's side then had point from Carl Lynch and Maloney to seal the win and dent Syddan's promotion prospects.
