St Ultans celebrated their awards night last Thursday (16th) in the Silver Tankard. The big winners on the night were the two new inductees into the St Ultans Hall of Fame, Seamus Bennett and Jim Kavanagh. Both men served both Bohermeen and Martry for many years through the and were honoured to accept the award on the night.
"It's important that as a club that we recognise our past achievements. Both Seamus and Jim have helped promote and celebrate football in this parish. They've won loads and now have family represented on the current Ultans panel. It was only right that we acknowledge these great men and their success", said club secretary DJ Ball.
The other winners on the night were Sean Herward and Gearoid Rennicks, who took home the player of the year awards for 2015 and 2016. Second team player of the year for 2015 and 2016 went to Luke O'Reilly and Barry Brady.
For their incredible work on the Strictly Come Dancing, which raised huge funds for the club - resulting in a new gym in Sean Newman - Jimmy Brennan and Tomas Coyne were announced as Club Men of the year for 2015 and 2016.
St Ultans focus will now shift towards continuing their successful start to the league and the first round of the Championship against Walterstown.
