O'Mahony could call on McGarrity for Cavan clash

Mayo's Ronan McGarrity
John O'Mahony has not ruled out Ronan McGarrity making some kind of an appearance for Mayo's forthcoming clash with Cavan in the qualifiers, despite the Ballina midfielder only tasting 20 minutes of action in the last four months when he was introduced as a substitute against Cork in a challenge match last weekend. ''Ronan has shown great single-mindedness throughout his treatment. He had to have his treatment and get himself looked after and once that was done he returned to training. "He's been in the gym a lot and we're delighted that he is back in a position to play football again. But he has missed a few months and we'll have to see what role he can play against Cavan,'' O'Mahony said. On the draw itself, O'Mahony admitted that it could have been worse although he is not taking Cavan for granted. ''It is not an easy draw but it could have been worse. Getting a home draw was vital, '' O'Mahony said.
