Higgins awarded for under-21 role

Mayo All-Ireland under-21 football winning captain Keith Higgins has been picked as the first Cadbury Hero of the Future award winner after a function at the Westin Hotel, Dublin.
Higgins received the award before going to London with Mayo's senior footballers on Saturday, May 27th . The award recognises the skill, passion and commitment of one player from the Cadbury's sponsored All-Ireland under-21 football championship series.
He was one of thirteen players shortlisted for the overall award. Higgins receives a E1, 000 holiday voucher, E1, 000 for his club and E1, 000 for the Mayo GAA Board.
Nicky Brennan, GAA President, and Michael Smith, Marketing Director, Cadbury Ireland, presented the award.
Earlier in May, Higgins was picked as the Personality of the Month by the TF Hotel and Theatre Connacht GAA Writers' Association.
Aidan Kilcoyne (Knockmore) was also nominated for the overall honour after his performance in the All-Ireland under-21 final.
