Physicality not an issue, says Horan

Mayo manager James Horan says he isn't necessarily working on developing a more-physical team.

When it was suggested to him that the current Mayo side was more physical than previous ones, Horan told GAA.ie:

"I wouldn't necessarily agree. If you look at the Cork game, we didn't look too hard against them, did we?

"We're looking to get stronger in a lot of areas. From a skill-set point of view and from a strength and conditioning point of view, so that we are competitive with the big teams in the country.

"We have a lot of work to do in a lot of areas and we're looking forward to having a go at that.

"Overall, we were happy with how we got on in the league and how we developed as a team.

"We tried some new guys and had lots of guys who have played for Mayo previously and came back and did very well.

"We developed consistently throughout the league and we were very happy with that. We were happy with what we learned and what we can now plan to build into our training for the next eight weeks."
