Mayo selector Martin Connolly and manager James Horan celebrate after the All Ireland quarter final win over Cork at Croke Park
Mayo manager James Horan is happy to see his players performing under floodlights in the FBD League.

The Connacht champions take on NUIG in the FBD League final at McHale Park on Friday night and Horan believes that they will benefit from this as their opening two matches in the NFL are also under lights.

"Our first two National League games are against Laois and Dublin under lights so playing on Friday night in McHale Park is good preparation for us," Horan explained to the Western People.

Horan is delighted to see a number of new players in the squad push hard for starting places having impressed in previous games.

"They are some guys in our thoughts and some guys have definitely put up their hand. They will definitely be in contention; we have a big game now against NUIG so that will tell a lot. We will just keep monitoring things at training to see how guys will perform, and we will take it from there."
