Mayo's hurler and footballers are to be the beneficiaries of money raised by Cairde Mhaigheo.

The newly formed Mayo Supporters Club will give all funds raised to the county teams and none of it will go to the repayment of the McHale Park redevelopment.

"The money for the McHale Park repayments will come from other revenue streams," Vice chairman of the county board and founding member of Cairde Mhaigheo Mike Connelly stressed to the Mayo News.

"Maybe, we're not making our message clear enough, but I can say, categorically that the fund-raising we are doing under the umbrella of Cairde Mhaigheo will be all going towards the development of our teams, towards what happens on the field." Tweet
