James Horan is Mayo's new senior football manager after the clubs of the county ratified him earlier tonight.

The former county star led Ballintubber to this year's senior decider and was the selection committee's choice to replace John O'Mahony.

Horan held off the challenge of Tommy Lyons and Anthony McGarry to clinch the role. Tweet
