Tooreen retained their U21A Hurling championship final with a hard fought
final over Castlebar in McHale Park on Sunday evening last. Two first half
Tooreen goals from Kenney Feeney and Cathal Freeman gave Tooreen a
comfortable 2-6 to 0-5 lead at the interval, with John Cotter being
Castlebars scorer in chief in the opening half from free's.

A Castlebar goal from Andrew Butler brought the local side back into the
game after 40 minutes, but expertly taken points from Freeman and Feeney
again brought the title back to East Mayo. After the game, John Hopkins
presented the U21A cup to Cathal Freeman - captain and Man of the Match of
the Tooreen side.
