NHL: Wins for Mayo, Wicklow and Longford

March 07, 2010
In yesterday's National Hurling League action, Mayo overcame Armagh, Wicklow defeated Fingal and Longford had three points to spare over South Down.

In Division 3A, Mayo came away from Crossmaglen with a 0-19 to 0-17 victory over a wasteful Armagh side. The home side hit 15 first half wides and missed a penalty as Brian Moran's impressive tally of 0-10 from frees steered the Westerners to the win.

Despite having veteran full forward Don Hyland sent off on a second yellow card early in the second half, Wicklow proved too strong for Fingal in their Division 3B clash at Swords. Jonathan O'Neill scored 0-9 (0-7 from frees) to help the visitors to a comfortable 0-25 to 1-7 victory.

Elsewhere, Longford made it two wins out of two in Division 4 when they edged out South Down on a 2-14 to 1-14 scoreline.
