Mayo pair to miss start of league

Mayo's Barry Moran
Pat Harte and Barry Moran will miss Mayo's opening two games in the National Football League against Galway and Tyrone. Midfielder Harte is also expected to miss the third and fourth rounds against Dublin and Derry as well due to work commitments. "Pat will be missing for six-to-eight weeks after work commitments took him out of the country on a short-term basis," Mayo manager John O'Mahony explained. "Barry suffered an ankle ligament injury in training and is likely to miss the opening two games of the league." Mayo can still reach the FBD League final by beating Roscommon on Sunday by more than IT Sligo beat NUIG, but O'Mahony is already focused on Sunday week's National League opener against Galway at McHale Park. "I hope to give a few of the young lads a run again this weekend. We have experimented a bit so far in the FBD League. "We might have to review that process with one eye on the Galway match the following week."
