Boss proud of players

November 27, 2008
Killala manager Enda Gilvarry was one proud man when the final whistle went at the end of the Connacht club JFC final and he modestly heaped praise on his players. The Mayo side comfortably defeated their Roscommon counterparts Kilglass Gaels in the provincial decider to end a remarkable year for this small rural club. "Work is something that these fellas are not shy of. They are a fantastic bunch of players. They travel from Galway and from Limerick for training and they trained very hard and never complained," said Gilvarry. "I always knew that our fitness could tell. Even throughout our campaign in Mayo we had worked so hard in training. The commitment that the lad showed was absolutely fantastic and you know while conditions were bad they kind of suited is as well because we knew we'd out last most teams."
