Swinford G.A.A. Club Dinner Dance Swinford G.A.A. club will be holding the annual club dinner dance earlier than usual this year. It has been decided to hold the dinner dance in conjunction with the 1983 & 1987 team reunion night. Having had a successful year by securing promotion and winning the league title the Swinford senior team will be acknowledged on the night. Also the usual player of the year awards along too with the hall of fame awards will be presented. The dinner dance will take place on Saturday 22nd November at 7.30p.m. in Julians of Midfield where a sit-down meal followed by musical entertainment will be provided. Guest of honour on the night will be RTE pundit and ex Mayo star Kevin McStay. Tickets are priced at ?30 and can be purchased at the Gateway Hotel and O'Connells pharmacy. Last few tickets are available, limited number still remaining; anyone wishing to attend this event is urged to purchase their tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Swinford G.A.A. 83' & 87' Team Reunion Swinford G.A.A. club will be holding a reunion night to honour the senior Swinford teams of 1983 and 1987. The 1983 team was the first ever senior team to reach an Intermediate County final in which they were unlucky to loose, while the 1987 team was the first to reach the County final and win it. While the Swinford senior side has captured the Intermediate title on a number of occasions since, this year marks the 25th Anniversary since a Swinford senior side first reached the final. This promises to be fantastic night and will also provide an opportunity for old friends to renew acquaintances. Current RTE pundit and ex Mayo star Kevin McStay will be the guest of honour for the night.
