There is unrest in Mayo
The Mayo County Board’s relationship with the Mayo GAA Foundation has soured to the extent that the parties have cut ties.
The Western People reports that there has been a breakdown in relations between the county board and the foundation.
The aim of the foundation was to help raise funds in the U.S for the development of Mayo GAA through natives of the county based over there.
The provincial paper alleges that the Foundation has in excess of a six-figure sum raised from various events that it has held.
No reason is given as to why the two parties have fallen out, but it is a huge financial blow to the Mayo county board.
