Barry O'Hare Roche Emmets

It looks like a straight battle between Roche Emmets and Glyde Rangers for the Division 3 title after St Kevins saw their hopes falter by losing to the Faughart men on Tuesday night.

The 1-11 to 0-11 victory for Roche means that they top the table on score difference ahead of Glyde Rangers.

The Tallanstown men maintained their unbeaten start when they scored a 1-14 to 0-9 win away to St Brides.

Glyde got off to a great start as a goal from Gavin Duffy saw them lead by 1-4 to no score on 15 minutes. However, the Brides hit back to cut the deficit to 1-5 to 0-4 at the break.

The visitors were too strong in the second half and outscored the Brides by 0-9 to 0-5 to claim a deserved victory.

Lannleire moved up to fourth position in the league, as a result of a well deserved 2-13 to 0-8 win away to John Mitchels on Tuesday night.

The opening 20 minutes of this fixture were evenly enough contested, but scores from Colin Murphy edged Lannleire ahead before a goal from Paul Callan put the Dunleer men 1-7 to 0-3 in front at the break.

The visitors were never in trouble after that despite the Mitchels scoring through Kevin Gallagher and Brendan McDonnell. A late goal from Colin Murphy sealed the win.

A strong finish to the opening half was the difference between the sides as Naomh Mairtin B claimed a 1-17 to 1-10 win over Naomh Malachi in their Division 3 encounter.

After an even opening quarter it was the Mairtins who got on top and a goal from Luke Harrington just before the break saw them lead by 1-9 to 0-6.

A Collie Rooney goal just after the restart helped the Mals cut the gap to one point, but they couldn't sustain that effort and the Mairtins ran out winners by seven points.

Westerns moved away from trouble at the foot of the table with a 1-12 to 1-11 win over Stabannon.

The Parnells got off to a brighter start but with Tommy Durnin inspiring his team and Sean McGuinness hitting the net, the Westerns hit back to lead by 1-7 to 0-5 at half time.

The Reaghstown men went eight clear early in the second half but a goal from Dean Lynch and points from Aonghus Giggins got Stabannon back to within a point. However, time ran out before they could conjure up an equaliser.

Dowdallshill's hopes of survival suffered a setback when they failed to build on a promising start and in the end lost out by 1-11 to 2-7 to Sean McDermotts at St Brigids Park.

A goal from David McCrave helped the Hill to lead by 1-3 to 0-1 in the early stages but the Seans fought back to cut the gap to just 1-4 to 0-6 at the break.

A goal helped the McDermotts to lead by five only for the Hill to come back with a three-pointer from McCrave. The hosts cut the gap to one point but were unable to complete the comeback.
