Gavin Duffy - Glyde Rangers

Roche Emmets continue to lead the way in Division 3 on score difference and they increased that advantage with a comprehensive 7-14 to 1-9 win over neighbours Nh Malachi.

Despite the comfortable margin in the end, the Emmets didn't have it all their own way in a first half that ended with a just a three point lead. A goal from Dan O'Connell was cancelled out by an effort from Jamie Kelly on 21 minutes as Roche went in at the break 1-5 to 1-2 ahead.

However, the second half was all Roche as Evin Quigley switched from goalkeeper to score 2-1, while there were also goals for David Quigley, Caoimhin Reilly, while Barry Reilly got two in a personal tally of 2-10.

Glyde Rangers joined Roche on nine points and did their own score difference no harm as they eased past the challenge of Dowdallshill on a 3-28 to 1-8 scoreline.

Brian Duffy did most of the damage for the winners as he grabbed a total of 1-12 in a game that saw his side led by 1-12 to 0-2 at the break. Niall Sharkey and Gavin Duffy also found the net to help their side to victory.

Once again Aidan McCabe top-scored for the Hill with eight points while Gerry McShane scored the goal for the Dundalk men.

Meanwhile St Kevins kept the pressure on the top two with a 2-9 to 0-7 win over St Brides on Thursday night, a result that saw them spend 24 hours on top of the table.

The early exchanges were tight but a goal on five minutes from Cian Callan allowed his side take control as they went in leading by 1-6 to 0-4 at the interval.

Callan netted his second goal on 47 minutes to effectively kill off the St Brides challenge as his side went on to win by eight points.

Stabannon enjoyed a 3-18 to 1-7 win over Nh Mairtin on Thursday night to help them move clear of the relegation places with their goals coming from Wayne Lynch, Aonghus Giggins and Shane Sweeney.

The Mairtins never got going in this game and Stabannon were well organised and difficult to break down. The hosts picked off their scores and were comfortable at the break as they led by 1-11 to 0-4.

Two goals for Stabannon in the third quarter really killed this game off as a contest. The Mairtins got a consolation goal near the end from Brian McQuillan but Stabannon ran out comfortable winners in the end.

The Sean McDermotts also picked up two vital points in the battle at the bottom of the table as they held off a second half comeback from the Mitchels to win by 2-14 to 1-15.

Peter Osborne scored both goals for the Seans in the first half as his side went in leading by 2-8 to 0-7.

The second period saw the Mitchels launch a comeback and got right back into the game with the help of a Kevin Gallagher goal. However, the McDermotts did just enough to hold out for victory.

Lannleire and Westerns served up a competitive hour of football at a resplendent Pairc Ui Mhuiri on Friday evening with the home side gaining a 1-15 to 1-11 victory thanks to a late Niall Lennon goal.

The first half had ended with Lannleire leading by 0-6 to 0-5 with both sides guilty of a number of missed chances for further scores.

Exchanges were even in the first ten minutes of the second half until Lannleire's Paul Callan sent over three points from play in as many minutes to put the home team in the ascendancy.

A Peter Shiels goal got the Westerns back into contention but Lennon's late goal saw his side come out on top.
