Junior Championship favourites Glen Emmets booked a semi-final spot against the Sean McDermotts thanks to a scintillating attacking victory over a game Roche Emmets side.

Goals from Ronan Grufferty, Eamonn Mullen and man of the match Conor Grimes paved the way to victory for the side who have just completed their division three campaign where they boasted a 100% record.

Conor Grimes has been in fine form all year for the Tullyallen side and he was quick out of the blocks on Sunday afternoon scoring three points in the opening ten minutes to give his side an early lead. A Kevin Callaghan point levelled the scores for Roche Emmets but they were soon playing catch up once more when Eamonn Mullen scored the game's first goal after 23 minutes.

A Ronan Grufferty score just before half time sent the Glen Emmets in at the break 1-8 to 0-6 in front leaving Roche with a lot of work to do in the second period.

Conor Cartht gave Roche a much needed shot in the arm with a well taken goal to leave just three points between the sides with twenty five minutes remaining. However, Glen Emmets ace marksman Conor Grimes scuppered any hopes of a Roche comeback with a fine goal to open up a six point gap between the teams.

Two minutes later the game was over as a contest when Ronan Grufferty scored Glen Emmets third goal to put his side out of reach. Two late sending off's weren't enough to stop the Emmet's progressing into the semi-final's where they will face Ardee side Sean McDermotts.
