Clan na Gael and St Brides continue to set the pace in Division 2 as they made it four wins from four outings on Tuesday night.

The Clans came out on top by 2-12 to 1-9 against a Hunterstown Rovers side who remain bottom having lost all four games to date.

The first half was a relatively even affair with a Mark McGeown goal proving to be the only difference between the teams as the Clans went in leading by 1-5 to 0-5.

A Billy Smith goal extended the gap to seven points but Rovers reduced the gap to 2-9 to 1-8 in the closing stages when they earned a penalty. However, Sean Smith pulled of a fine save from Ryan Burns to tip the ball over the bar and the Dundalk men kicked the last three points to secure the win.

St Brides made it four wins out of four with another big win, this time overcoming Glyde Rangers in this one sided affair. St. Brides were quickest out of the blocks with Kevin Hearty scoring 1-1 in the first few minutes as they went on to lead by 1-5 to 0-2 at the break. Both Glyde scores came from Ciaran Sheridan.

It went from bad to worse for the hosts in the second half with Glyde only registering two late points, as the Brides added goals from Niall Mackin, Shane Devin, Paddy Reilly and Emmet Kirk. St Mochtas moved into fourth place in the table when they overturned a half time deficit to secure a 2-11 to 1-10 win over O Raghallaighs at the Gaelic Grounds.

The opening quarter was evenly balanced but the O Raghallaighs finished the half with an unanswered 1-2 to lead by 1-7 to 0-5 at half time.

The Louth Village side got back into the game when Ultan Larney hit the net and entering the closing stages the teams were level at 1-10 apiece. Declan Byrne put his side ahead from a '45' before Danny Kindlon added a goal with the last kick of the game.

The Finbarrs extended the gap to three before Gaels hit back to level in the dying minutes. Stuart Osborne looked to have won it for the visitors but the Gaels had the final say as they levelled from a free deep into injury time.

Oliver Plunketts denied Na Piarsaigh a first win of the season when they held out for a 0-11 to 0-9 win at the Rock Road.

Trevor Walsh with five points and Cian Matthews (4) did most of the damage for the Plunketts while also on target was Conor Earley with two as the visitors recorded their second win of the season.

In the remaining game in the division, St Josephs maintained their good run when they travelled to Dundalk and scored a 2-6 to 0-8 win over Young Irelands.
