Pearse Og and Knockbridge to meet in SHC final

September 04, 2014

Holders Pearse Og and Knockbridge will face-off in the 2014 Louth SHC decider on Sunday week.

Before last weekend's final series of round-robin games, Knockbridge were already guaranteed their place in the September 14th hurling showcase, having won all three of their group matches to date.

It was between Pearse Og and St Fechins to see who would join the villagers in the final. The Termonfeckin men needed a landslide victory over Naomh Monnine to put themselves in contention and they duly obliged with a thumping 6-23 to 1-5 success at Dowdallshill. All they needed now was a fourth successive Knockbridge victory...

However, three-in-a-row seeking Pearse Og produced their best performance of the campaign thus far against Knockbridge in Darver, where they prevailed by 5-7 to 1-13 to remain ahead of the Fechins on the final group table.

Indeed, Pearse Og ultimately topped the group, but Knockbridge won't lose too much sleep over that as they were through to the Paddy Kelly Cup decider regardless of what happened on Saturday and had nothing to play for.
