Louth minors delay naming team

April 17, 2014
Louth won't name their side to face Wexford in the Leinster MFC "until the last minute".

The Wee County welcome the Model minors to Drogheda on Saturday afternoon (3pm) and the hosts have injury worries surrounding a number of key men.

Darragh Lafferty, Kevin Carr, John Connolly and Paul Matthews are all struggling, so the Reds are going to name their starting XV at the latest possible stage.

Louth have played ten games as preparation for the championship - three in the Leinster minor league and some high-profile challenges against quality opposition like Dublin, Cavan, Monaghan, Armagh and Down.

"They have definitely improved and they are much fitter, but we know Wexford will be a really tough challenge," co-manager Martin Dunne told The Drogheda Independent. "They are a big, physical team with 17 dual players in their panel."
