O'Connell's G.F.C. Club Notes
May 08, 2013Division 1: Oliver Plunketts 0-6, O'Connell's 2-7. Jimmy Greaves on the saint & greavsie show had a saying "it's a funny old game football" and it sure is, as we recorded a seven point victory on Thursday evening last without scoring in the second half. Now a win is a win, but it is very disappointing not scoring for a whole half of a football game. However it's two more points in the bag and we move to the top of the league along with a few others with three wins from four played. The county champions St. Patrick's visit the Grove next Thursday evening at 7.30pm, why not come along and see how the boys are doing.

Division 4A: St. Mary's 2-8, O'Connell's 2-13. On Sunday last we travelled to Ardee to play St. Mary's and came away with a great victory by five points. Our mixture of youth and experience players is working really well with some great performances on the field. Next game is on Sunday morning next at 12.00am away to Clan Na Gael.

Début: Congratulations to James Clerkin, Dean Corrigan and Aonghus Meehan who made their adult débuts for the division 4A team in the game versus Dreadnots, and also John Paul Stanfield who played in the game versus St. Patricks and also Declan Byrne who played against St. Marys. We wish them a long and hopefully successful playing career with O'Connell's G.F.C.
Bingo: Bingo will continue in our clubrooms this Wednesday 8th May at 8.00pm, jackpot €1400 in 48 numbers. All welcome.
Lotto: It is still possible to get prepaid lotto tickets, there are three available they are one for €80 which enters 47draws 7 free, one for €40 enters 23 draws 3 free, and the other for €20 enters 11 draws 1 free. Tickets can be got from any lotto seller.
